yesterday: plant seeds,
today: sun, water and growth
tomorrow: life. food.
This Haiku is brought to you by the season, my want to give back, life as we know it (a cycle) and my recent visit to see the Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC. This Haiku can be applied literally, as I’ve seen many people tending to their garden this past weekend. The idea of cyclic growth can also be applied to learning and raising children. “What goes around comes around,” and “what you put in is what you get out.” Plant healthy seeds, nurture the seeds and life will bloom. Sometimes I really marvel at it all.
Anyways, here is a sneak peak of more to come later in the week from the Cherry Blossom photo walk:

These macro shots are starting to really grow on me. I’m 13 weeks in or a quarter of the way through this adventure and I’m having such a blast searching around for material. The next couple months I’m sure will be filled with flowers. I’m loving the spring weather! We got up to 88 in Northern Virginia today. Anyways, I’ll stop rambling and bring you this weeks image:
I wasn’t sure I had this shot nailed, with the wind and people, and honestly wish it was a bit more sharp. Overall though, I love the pinks and soft feel of the whole image. This was taken yesterday while in DC visiting the Cherry Blossoms. I had so much fun and will be sharing some of my shots with you later in the week.
*Admin Note: Yesterday I posted on Facebook and wanted to mention this change here for everyone who follows this blog and has an interest in my photo walks. Please like my nicoleinbold facebook page for further updates and events. I am going through a reorganization, which means I will not be posting these things on my personal Facebook page starting this week. Oh and don’t be alarmed that my web page isn’t working, I’m in the process of switching hosting companies, things will be back up shortly! Thank you for you patience and support!

…and wander the places I go frequently. Happy April everyone! (The above is a print by the lovely 3LambsGraphics)
This weekend I plan to visit the DC Mall. I am so excited to see the Cherry Blossoms this year, one of my favorite events! I hope to see some of you down there soaking in some sun and the scenery. Here are a few shots from years past.
Do you have a special place that you like to revisit and wander?

I’m treating you as a friend asking you to share my present minuses in the hope that I can ask you to share my future pluses. *Katherine Mansfield
They say insanity is one step past the line of genius. Currently, I think I’m on the wrong side of that invisible line. Random “philosophical” thoughts in toe, I am speaking faster than ever, stopped eating meat and have found my self living in the room under the stairs painting, drawing and writting whatever comes out of my head. A scary thought I know.
Life has really thrown me some ups and downs this past years, heavy on the downs. You really do find out who your true friends are when you go through toubling times. I have found it is time to branch out, try new things and meet new people. Life it way to short, a mere blip on the radar compared to the life of our universe. While I can’t change this, I can recognize it and put my life in perspective.
“Be who you are and
say what you feel
because those who matter
don’t mind, and those who mind
An experiment in finding myself. With doors locked and lights out I have come to ask myself what I want out of life, who am I and what will truely make me happy. Throughout this turbulent year I have learned a lot about myself and gotten a little closer to my inner voice. As the new year apporaches I hope to further explore my passions and how they fit into the world; rather than exploring the world and see how it fits into my passions.
Through this self talk and conversations with my husband we have decided this next year will be filled with adventure and commitment to eachother. We hope to uncover a little more of our purpose in this world, help those around us, take all opportunities at face value and explore our surroundings.
I will be putting together a list of a few photowalk adventures I would like to explore with fellow and local photographers.
I am also working on updating and linking all of these various websites I’ve accrued.
Watch out for new pictures being post. School is out and I have a lot more free time. I’m doing my best to catch up!
If you have any photowalk ideas or places you like that my husband and I should check out let me know. I am open for ideas!
For those of you who read these and check up on me regularly, thank you! You will notice I deactivated my facebook account. I did not like how it was effecting my mood, various realtionships and time spent. I am currently wresting with the idea of whether I should reactivate it. It seems in this world of fast paced lives and interdependancy on technology and subsequently social media it will be vital in getting my name out there as I explore and grow in my photography and art in general. Again, any thoughts on this regarding how you may proceed would be greatly appreciated!
Until next time,
Be inspired. Live boldy.
