Macro and Haiku Tuesday

With life being so busy lately, mostly with work and feeling under the weather, I had forgotten my new years resolution word, among other things. I’m not sure how I let it slip, this golden ticket of a word is this years saving grace in becoming the person I want to be and the woman my friends and family believe me to be already, despite everything. My word is permission.

Last night while struggling to fall asleep I was hit with this word. Permission; right now, today, and probably for a while it is a word full of nurture rather than just allowance. Therefore, I have come up with my haiku in honor of this amazing word. Warning, the haiku also came to me while I could not fall asleep, at one in the morning, so bare with me.

permission: a smile;

a small breathe, a new outlook

a commissioned friend.

These words are not quite there, but I wanted to share. I hope you enjoy!

For those of you who are wondering what happened to Macro Monday, my answer is, well I do not have a good answer other than I had a horrible Monday. Today was a little better and I was feeling extra creative so when I got home I ventured behind my camera to play around with more color. A new color at that, I was drawn to yellow again, really craving the warmth so I went with…Blue, here it is:

This item was fun to play around with, more textures than I had expected and so many more colors to work with…Love color!

I hope evryones week has started off well!

Macro Monday:: Week 1

Happy Monday! (I promise not to start every post this way)

Today is day one of my 52 week project, Macro Monday. Which was inspired by Day 14 in Noah Scalin’s book as mentioned in my previous post.

” Make something microscopic. How small can you work? Can you make something that requires a magnifying glass or microscope to see?”

Here are two images that I took today. I think it may be a bit obvious what this is, but I’ve decided to post reference pictures for each Macro Monday on the following Macro Monday. Feel free to share your thoughts and feelings about these week after week, or even critique them. The goal is to take more pictures and learn as I go. I hope you enjoy! (original work by @k8meier)

Here are the reference images. Thank you @k8meier for sharing your art work and letting my capture your brush strokes.

Something new…

Happy Sunday to everyone, one week down of the new year! I hope resolutions are still intact while others still forming, it’s never too late. I have some projects I will be starting this coming week. They are designed to get my creative mind moving, push my comfort zones, expand my photography skills and lastly to keep me writing. I’m starting a week late due to a crazy bug I got over New Years that wiped me out all of last week.

After being laid up and loosing my voice my sweet husband felt sympathetic and took me to Borders to find some happy inspiration to get me through this coming week. Naturally, I went back to the crafting section. I hemmed and hawed over a few books but stopped when I got to Noah Scalin’s “A Daily Creativity Journal 365 Make Something Everyday And Change Your Life!”

I do not plan to follow his day to day plan. Instead I have pulled five simple suggestions to expound on, one day and week at a time. This madness will start tomorrow, I hope I can keep up!

Stay tuned to see the topics, and get explanations. I might even have a guest 365er joining me for accountabilities sake. More details to come!

Stay tuned:

I have a few more dates to sure up in regards the photo walks, and will have this posted next weekend.

Input please:

Have you ever thought of doing a 52 week or 365 day project? If so what was or is your topic?

Until tomorrow,
